This School has been established in 1976. The ratio of the student to teacher is 5:1. The success rate of student is 82%. Sectional library collection is maintained in the School of Physics.
Five projects from different agencies are under progress. Last year, the DST project of Rs.33.68 lakhs and CSIR project of Rs.17.19 lakhs were completed. The School is having DRS and COSIST programmes from UGC and FIST programme from DST.
Department of computer Science was initiated in 1986 with a financial support of Rs 71 lakhs from DRDO, ministry of Defence, New Delhi, with the objective of impacting technical acumen in the frontier areas of burgeoning computer science and IT industry.

1. Single Crystal Diffractometer CAD4/MACH 3, Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) and Inorganic Crystal Structural Database (ICSD) is available under DST FIST programme.
2. SPECTRAPHYSICS - Model 2020 Argon ion Laser and Omnichrome 112 He-Cd Laser and PC interfaced high resolution monochromator with a versatile photon counter are available for carrying out Laser Raman Spectroscopy, Laser Excited Photoluminescence and Laser excited Fluorescence spectroscopic Studies.
3.Microprocessor and Computer Lab has been estabished under UGC-DRS Programme.
4. Solar spectrograph is available for Solar Astrophysics studies.
5.Ultrasonic Interferometer for liquids is available for Polymer studies.
6. Thermal Evaporation Unit and Electron Gun Evaporation Unit are available for thin film preparation.
7.Photoacoustic spectrometer for solids and liquids is available with 400 watts Xenon lamp as the source.
8. Fullfledged computer laboratory for students with internet is available.
9. Colour reproduction laboratory for image Halftoning and Dithering using HP4500 & R45 printers.
